Homemade Dishcloth

I love homemade dishcloths and think they work better than any store bought kind. Plus working on them can be so relaxing. The pattern I used for this dishcloth can be found here.

Above is a picture of the finished project with a bar of our favorite handmade soap that you can purchase at http://biscuitsboutique.com.

Sewing Pattern Weights

For the last few years I've been wanting to make pattern weights and recently ran across this site and thought the project was just what I'd been looking for.  Fortunately, I already had some pre-made yo-yo's from a yard sale find.  So all I needed to do instead of making more yo-yo's was to cut open the bunch I had and stuff them with a little bit of batting and some washers that I'd picked up at my local hardware store.  Then I finished by regathering the fabric, sewing it closed and adding a button on top.

I had so much fun making them that I eventually ran out of washers but got the idea to use some polished rocks that I had on hand.  When the rocks run out I've set aside some pennies to use instead.  Overall, a fun and easy project to add a bit of cuteness to your sewing.
