Orange zest


Free food with little effort. You can wash your oranges and zest with a zester (shown in pic) or use a grater and grate the outside of the orange, the white part is bitter you just want the orange part.  

I do this on a plate, as in the picture, and let it dry. This takes about 24 hours of just letting it dry on the plate. 

When dry I put it in a jar for recipes calling for orange peel. We eat the orange after I zest it so it isn’t done ahead, just as we eat the oranges. But this is free, how much are you spending for the tiny jar at the store?
