Monday Message

"Start now to create a plan if you don’t already have one, or update your present plan. Watch for best buys that will fit into your year’s supply. We are not in a situation that requires panic buying, but we do need to be careful in purchasing and rotating the storage that we’re putting away. The instability in the world today makes it imperative that we take heed of the counsel and prepare for the future." (L. Tom Perry)

With shortages hitting shelves right now having extra on hand is a good idea. - wrinkle releaser static remover. It's that time of year when static causes unpleasant results when you're wearing a skirt or dress so this is a cheap solution. - how to turn leftovers into soup - excellent ideas! - great with hot cocoa. - this is a good idea too and with winter soon coming to our neck of the woods, if you have elderly neighbors give them a box of things to help them through winter storms. One year they suggested this very thing on our weather station. - this is a handy bean cook book. - this has some great recipes.

Sticking some more mix recipes in, with prices going up making our own mixes could prove helpful. - this is one of my favorites.

My other favorite is Make-A-Mix Cookbook. See if your library will get them for you, there are the first two then they combined them into one. Just a side note here - the brownie mix in the first book is our favorite. - lots of great ideas here and don't forget gift mixes make great gifts!

There are lots of gift ideas on these sites. - budget recipes here. - good ideas.

I am almost done with this spin project then my plan is to chain ply it...when I am done you will get to see the yarn I made.

This shawl is my latest project so find a project that relaxes you, get a hot cocoa and take time for yourself.

Missy says, remember to stay within your budget when doing Christmas this year!

Gus says, please stay safe, it ain't over yet.

  1. I don't think I ever met two wiser cats.

    1. shhhh don't let them hear that it will go to their heads thank you

    2. How I chuckled at your comment…they are wise indeed ;)

  2. Missy is exactly right. We have already had a few talks about how we will handle the holidays. And we all enjoy practical gifts so that helps.
We have meat free meals several nights each week and have beans instead. Really nothing beats a good bean soup in cold weather with a nice slice of cornbread.

    1. yum that sounds good. you will like the bean site. thank you

  3. Lol! Missy looks like she's watching a mouse!!

Frugal week around here, which always makes me feel accomplished! Stuck to the menu plan. Had pasta one night and two nights of soup. Pasta was a Polish Casserole with sale turkey kielbasa. Soups were a creamy chicken and rice and the other was beef barley. I use half the meat and add more veggies. Still tastes great. Still deciding on soups for this week. I have a lasagna soup I've wanted to try. I'll let you know!

We had 2/3 of of our fall mandatories done. Sprinklers were blown out and our furnace was serviced. Still waiting on the roofers to winterize. Soon we'll be putting the yard to bed completely.

I really need to get my rear in gear and finish up the last of my Christmas presents. I'm hoping to mail them Thanksgiving week.

Please give Gus and Missy my weekly scratch!

    1. they get those scratches you and love that you give them we would love you to share your recip with us i think everyone could share a recipe that is their fav thanks for sharing
